SS1101 is a DSSS chip that spreads data signal and feeds to an RF
module (radio) for transmission, and despreads signal coming from the RF
module and reproduces the original data. Signal to and from an RF module is binary data stream. A basic wireless communication module can be built by integrating SS1101 with an RF
module and a micro-controller (three components). This wireless communication
module (WCM(*)) receives digital data from a computer or from a transducer and transmitts
to the air after spreading. Then a receiver side WCM receives the signal from the
air, despreads and reproduces the original data and feeds to a computer or a data collector. Click 
SS1102 is an integration of SS1101 and an 8-bit micro-controller on a single
chip. The CPU is code compatible with Intel 80C51. You can build a compact wireless communication module (WCM) with an RF
module and SS1102 (two components). Because SS1102 has a CPU
inside, the software code may reside on an internal mask ROM or in an
external ROM chip. For the external ROM chip configuration, SS1102 is packaged
in 100-pin TQFP which allows extra pins for ROM interface. For the internal
ROM configuration, the chip comes in 52-pin QFP and is called SS1119.

SS8203 is an 8-bit micro-controller for general use. The core of the chip is a CPU which is code-compatible with Intel 80C51. The chip also has a OTP (one time programmable) flash memory on it. It has sophisticated timer control features for complex system control. The chip comes currently in 64 pin DIP package.
